ATA Inter Unit Team Relays Championship took place at Mallory Park on 04 May 2022, which saw 26 teams in total compete in the following different categories: Major Unit Team, Minor Unit Team, Mixed Unit Team, which had to be made up of 2 males and 2 females and a Guest Team, which could be made up of civilians from the prison/ambulance/fire service & RAF, Navy and Army teams that could be from any unit and made up of any gender that were not able to enter in the Mixed category.

It was a chilly start for each individual swimming in open water with the temperature making it mandatory to wear a wetsuit. Once each member completed the open water swim, it was on to the bike route around Mallory Park racing circuit. Unfortunately for some teams, the heavens opened for the last couple of laps on the bike and transitioning to the final stage of the triathlon, the run. With it being very close through each stage between the teams, it made it very competitive throughout the event.
