On the 23rd June 2020 members of the ATA took part in the first Virtual Army Duathlon series. There will be a total of 4 Races which make up the series. The first race format was as followed:
Virtual Sprint Duathlon Race 1 – 5km Run – 20km bike,- 2.5km
Athletes must complete the three segments in order of a Duathlon (longest run, bike, shortest run).
All athletes complete each of the disciplines in order using Starva or Garmin to evidence the times for the Run, then using Turbo trainers that could connect to Zwift to record their time.
This gave all ability athletes to have some form of competition and test their fitness whilst still in Lockdown.
The results are as followed:
All results for the different Age Category and Overall results can be found on the DBMAX website
Special thanks to Capt Simon Wright who organised the event for the Army Triathlon Athletes and we look forward to the next.
