The Army Triathlon Association (ATA) has provided a forum for training, racing and coaching to Army Athletes since 1985. As a sport, Triathlon, under its governing body’s continues to evolve to meet the demands of both elite and novice competitors. The popularity of Triathlon within the Armed Forces is evident as the ATA membership has risen to over 300 athletes placing the ATA as one of the largest Triathlon Clubs in the UK.

The ATA committee professionally deliver a season long varied race calendar, as well as host a number of formal training camps hosted by British Triathlon Federation qualified coaches that cater for all abilities.  In addition to these formal training camps, the ATA also deliver a separate, highly successful novice training camp, details for all ATA activities can be found on our various social media sites. Becoming a member of the ATA allows you to benefit from a range of excellent equipment discount offers and access to the members only social media site.

New For 2020 Season

The ATA will deliver a two part race format for the 2020 season.:

Part One
Winter Season Series – This consists of 3 different Time Trial (TT) Events, with pre-fixture training delivered at each event.  Each event will focus on a single discipline with pre-fixture training covering all three disciplines. The results from all three events will be collated and overall and category winners will be announced after the third event.
Part Two
Summer Season Series – A 6 race series has been introduced, where athletes can score and accrue points that will count toward the Individual, Inter Unit and Inter Corps championships. Age groups will now follow that of the National Governing Body, age is at 31 Dec of that year.  In addition to the race series, the ATA will deliver a number of stand-alone events, Army Relays and the Army Middle Distance Championships.  Both these events will not score points towards the series competition

Memberships to the ATA will now run for a full year as of when you join or renew. By having the ATA membership, you will have access to our closed Defence Connect Group (Army Sport – Army Triathlon Association – Members) and Facebook closed group ( Army Triathlon Association – Members) where you can get lots of advice, tips and support from others as you take on your events. You will also have access to discount codes to help get you ready for the events.
